Welcome to The Society of Irish Plant Pathologists (SIPP)!
SIPP was founded in 1968 with the aims of bringing together workers in the field of Plant Pathology throughout the island of Ireland and representing Irish Plant Pathology internationally.
Twice-yearly meetings are held in Dublin, Belfast and beyond.

Members of SIPP carry out research in many areas of plant pathology:
- Crop protection of the common agricultural and horticultural crops such as wheat, barley, potatoes, mushrooms and apples.
- Crop protection in organic agriculture.
- Crop protection in short rotation coppice willow for biomass production.
- Plant health, e.g. sudden oak death and fireblight, – control and detection using the latest molecular detection methods.
